New College of Florida’s Samantha Carmer Named Among Top Career Coaches in Florida

SARASOTA, FL — New College of Florida is proud to announce that Samantha Carmer, a leader in The Fulcrum, formerly the Career Engagement and Opportunity (CEO) Office, has been recognized by Influence Digest as one of the Top Career Coaches in Florida for 2026.

This recognition highlights Carmer’s commitment to helping students translate academic excellence into meaningful careers and reflects the growing impact of New College’s career development nitiatives.

Carmer’s work focuses on preparing students for their first job after graduation and long-term success.

“It’s a reflection of the work happening every day at New College, where there is a shared commitment to helping students grow, succeed, and find purpose in their careers,” said Carmer. “This recognition feels less like an individual milestone and more like a reflection of the collective investment in both colleagues and students.”

Carmer emphasized the importance of collaboration within the field, citing professional communities such as Florida Association of Colleges & Employers, Southern Association of Colleges and Employers, and Cooperative Education & Internship Association as instrumental in shaping her approach.

New College of Florida President Richard Corcoran praised Carmer’s achievement and its broader significance for New College students.

“Samantha Carmer’s recognition as one of Florida’s top career coaches is the kind of student-centered excellence that defines New College,” said Corcoran. “Her work ensures that students are intellectually prepared and professionally positioned to succeed at the highest levels. This is exactly the kind of leadership that strengthens outcomes for students and reinforces the value of a New College education.”

Through the CEO Office, New College continues to expand opportunities for internships, mentorship, and career preparation—connecting students with pathways that align academic rigor with real-world success.
