FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Alliance to End Human Trafficking Applauds Congress for Passing the REPORT Act

"We applaud Congress for passing and the President for signing the REPORT Act (Public Law No: 118-59). The online sexual exploitation and trafficking of children must end. The REPORT Act includes necessary legal changes that can help reporting and enforcement. Most importantly, we hope the Act can prevent child exploitation and trafficking before it occurs online.

Introduced by Senator Marsha Blackburn on February 16, 2023, as S.474, this bill seeks to amend Title 18 of the United States Code to enhance reporting to the CyberTipline concerning online sexual exploitation of children, modernize liabilities associated with such reports, ensure the preservation of these reports for one year, and address other related purposes.

The Alliance to End Human Trafficking now calls on Congress to continue protecting children and using this bipartisan momentum to pass the Kids Online Safety Act (KOSA) and the Children and Teens’ Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA 2.0).
