Hi Tom, Ahead of Amazon Prime Day on July 8, Check Point Research has identified a dramatic spike in cyber threats targeting online shoppers. Key Findings: - 1,000+ new domains mimicking Amazon were registered in June 2025 alone.
- 87% of those domains were flagged as malicious or suspicious.
- 1 in every 81 risky domains contains the term “Amazon Prime.”
- Real phishing emails are spoofing Amazon refund alerts, redirecting users to fake login pages designed to steal credentials.
Cybercriminals are capitalising on the shopping frenzy to deploy highly targeted phishing and domain spoofing attacks at scale. To help consumers stay ahead of the scams, Check Point Research has published a new blog detailing: - The tactics scammers are using this year
- Real-world examples of spoofed domains and phishing campaigns
- 10 proactive steps shoppers can take to protect themselves
- How Check Point’s AI-powered security blocks threats before they reach users
