Downtown Dallas Gets “House Ready” for FIFA World Cup with 70+ Improvements and 39 Days of Activations
DALLAS — As North Texas prepares to welcome the world for the FIFA World Cup, Downtown Dallas, Inc. is “getting the house ready” for the big party. Downtown Dallas, Inc. is preparing for an unforgettable global celebration with activations along Main Street, Pegasus Plaza, and Main Street Garden.
Downtown Dallas, Inc. has been hard at work completing more than 70 improvement projects designed to enhance the Downtown experience ahead of the FIFA World Cup. These improvements range from fixing trip hazards and enhancing medians to planting trees, installing additional lighting in parks, covering vacant storefronts with art, and commissioning five-story murals. Together, these efforts aim to create a welcoming, vibrant, and memorable environment for visitors and residents alike.

Activating Main Street with Better Block
Daily | May 22 – July 19
Downtown Dallas, Inc. is partnering with Better Block to activate Main Street for the duration of the FIFA World Cup.
By temporarily expanding pedestrian space and introducing shade structures, cooling elements, games, seating, and programming, Main Street will transform into a vibrant civic living room.
A car-free experience on select blocks on Main Street during the FIFA World Cup.
Each Saturday, the community is invited to stroll down Main Street and enjoy local vendors, chalk art, live music and family-friendly activities.
Pegasus Plaza Chill Zone
Daily | June 14 – July 19
Pegasus Plaza | 1500 Main Street
Pegasus Plaza will be transformed into a welcoming Chill Zone during the FIFA World Cup. Visitors can escape the Texas heat with frozen treats, refreshing lemonade, and interactive games.
The plaza will feature shaded seating, relaxed gathering spaces, and activities for families, friends, and soccer fans looking to unwind between matches. This lively yet laid-back environment will serve as a cooling oasis in the center of the Downtown action.
Central Pitch is Dallas’ premier global football epicenter in downtown Dallas, offering one-of-a-kind experiences for locals and visitors to the city. With different immersive activations like on-site product customization, retail, and photo moments, this hub is where global football culture collides with the bold spirit of the city during the 2026 World Cup. Central Pitch also evolves into a flexible venue, available for private events, brand takeovers, team parties, and corporate experiences. All powered by live, on-site merchandise customizations that create one-of-a-kind products in real time.
Main Street Garden will be reimagined as Downtown’s Backyard — a vibrant community hub for visitors and locals. Guests can enjoy BBQ for purchase from 1920 Rodeo Cafe at Main Street Garden Café, interactive misting stations, The TUNNEL immersive art installation, a family-friendly playground, and shaded seating.
The Dallas Arts District proudly announces the Dallas and Texas premiere of RedBall Dallas by artist Kurt Perschke. RedBall Project is an ongoing temporary public artwork and performance featuring a 15-foot inflatable red sphere that will move daily through the city of Dallas, appearing at publicly shared locations, and inviting both planned and unexpected encounters in public space. For ten consecutive days, the iconic RedBall will travel throughout the Dallas Arts District and surrounding downtown locations, transforming streets, cultural landmarks, and everyday passageways into sites of curiosity, imagination, play, and shared discovery.

The TUNNEL invites visitors to take control of a giant interactive light experience. Using a custom console, guests become the “pilot,” controlling speed, color, fade, and patterns to create a unique immersive environment.
This large-scale installation offers memorable photo opportunities and an imaginative experience for visitors of all ages. This installation is supported in part by the Dallas Tourism Public Improvement District.

America’s 250th Birthday Celebration
Main Street Social Saturday: America 250 Edition
July 4 | 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM Main Street & Main Street Garden | 1902 Main Street
A special edition of the weekly Main Street Social Saturdays – extended into Main Street Garden. Family-friendly celebration honoring America’s 250th birthday will extend from Main Street Garden along Main Street during Social Saturday and will feature a classic car show, kids activities, a snowball fight, a pie-eating contest with Norma’s Cafe, Fletcher’s Corn Dog & food trucks, family activities, and photo opportunities throughout the park and along Main Street.
Attendees are encouraged to continue the July 4 celebration just a few blocks north with afternoon and evening festivities at Klyde Warren Park.

Enjoy a memorable nighttime experience with an America 250 Celebration Light Show nightly at the UNT Law School in Downtown Dallas – seen best from adjacent Main Street Garden. Three-minute show every 15 minutes. 3D projection mapping between shows.
