THREE BRITISH CLASSICS HEAD FOR SALE WITH ICONIC AUCTJIONEERS AT TATTON PARK

FOR THE Classic & Performance Car Spectacular Show

on the 1st June 2024

1971 Rolls-Royce Corniche Convertible £50,000 - £60,000

There are few Brits who have not cast an eye over a Rolls-Royce or a Bentley and dreamed just a little bit. That dream could easily become reality at the next Classic Car Auction on June 1st at Tatton Park where a selection of these two leading marques are heading for the auction block at Everyman estimates.

Who would not love to drive this beauty down to the south of France in sunshine with the hood down and tour the Corniche which provided its name? This 1971 Rolls-Royce Corniche convertible is estimated to sell for £50,000 to £60,000.

Single-family ownership from new until recently, this early MPW-built Corniche retains much originality and is undoubtedly one of the most stylish ways to arrive anywhere.

Finished in Shell Grey Metallic over a gently patinated navy blue leather interior with Park Ward floor mats and lambswool over mats. This car has been stored in a climate-controlled 'motor house' and well maintained.

Powered by a standard R-R 6,750cc V8 with an aluminium-silicon alloy block and aluminium cylinder heads mated to a 3-speed GM automatic transmission. Resprayed at some point in the past it remains generally in good condition and is said to be running and driving very nicely. The hood works correctly, and it comes to the sale with a good history file and the original handbook.

1972 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow - £10,000 - £12,000

A classic of the 1970s - presented in that ever so 70s combination of Sable over Willow Gold with a Magnolia leather interior, this Series One Shadow has an up-to-date service history and recent expenditure of £10,000 - £12,000. Showing a modest 75,400 miles supported by a lovely up-to-date service history, its powered by Rolls-Royce's venerable 6.75-litre V8, producing 220bhp and able to propel the Shadow to 60mph in 10.6 seconds and on to 116mph.

The interior has also been refreshed with a new set of fitted carpets by a Rolls-Royce specialist along with refurbished wood veneers. This lovely old Shadow One is supplied with its original handbooks, service book and, although MOT exempt, a fresh MOT for peace of mind. It has also recently had a major brake overhaul including new callipers, four period correct new tyres, and a new battery.

2005 Bentley Flying Spur -£14,000 - £18,000

Effortless pace, sybaritic luxury, limousine-esque passenger space - a super saloon with just over 26,000 miles indicated. British coachbuilding at its very best and looks tremendous value at this sensible guide at £14,000 - £18,000.

With its sublime 6-litre, W12 powerplant generating 552bhp and 479 lb/ft of torque and offering 0-62mph in 5.2 seconds and 194mph. Intelligent Torsen-based permanent four-wheel drive, adaptive air suspension and continuous damping control, it is muscular, powerful and seriously fast.

First generation (2005-2013) model of the four-door variant of the Bentley Continental GT Coupé. Purchased in 2005 from Broughtons of Cheltenham. Finished in Silver Tempest over a cream leather interior. Newly refurbished 19-inch alloys.
