>> welcome back to great day, casey, the 5th annual purses for promise event is back and it's raising money to support the united way of greater kansas city and its early learning programs. here to give us the details is karen magic of the united way of greater kansas city. good morning, carol. good morning. great. thanks for having us. i'm happy when you come here because great, but i think always bring fun thing for those. maybe this is the first time learning about purses for promise. tell us more about the event. yeah. persist for proms is our annual per stay silent auction redo our wine pours a social event. just a really fun night that brings together women and some guys. yeah. in our community together to raise funds for united way early learning programs as well as art this year. impact on 100 partner. >> growing futures are early education center in overland park it's presented by black and veatch and sponsored by women. united are a group of female philanthropists and really just a fun evening to come together and celebrate really all the great things that are happening for earliest learners in the community because, you know, so much happens in that birth to 5. category more than 90% of the brain development is occurring in that age. more we can invest in advocate for our youngest learners, a better offer whole community can be absolutely. now you mentioned that this event is hosted by woman's united. tell us more about their organization and their mission, yellin and united. is it just an incredible group of female philanthropists in our community? there are more than 635 members. they all pledged financially to united way as well as getting involved volunteerism in fundraising through events like purses, for promise of this is really their signature event. they also get together and support teachers in kansas city through refresh a classroom in the fall lots of other events throughout the year. but this is really the fun night that that we all get to love look that okay. so tell me more about the purses that here they i just want them you know, take monday. but this is a small sampling. we have about 50 bags total that will be available on during our silent auction. coming up on april, 16th. >> and really, there's something for every budget, every style. but this is a small sample of what we have here. so a little bit of everything. there's that something very fun like this cold gaia bag. we have a zac posen here, valentino kate spade. there's a money bag on the end. so just really a little something for everyone's taste. styles that you might like. so it's it's always just fun to see a different collection of items that me a teacher. you have more than just purses, uniform, other amazing items that people can bid on as well. tell us about that. yeah. so we try to bring in something new each year as well. so something new that we've added to the collection this year, some local artisan jewelry. so i have a piece here from sierra winter is one of the 5 feature jewelers that will have included in the auction this year and then also experiences. and that included with some of them is packages. so we have everything from current chiefs royals, a suite level tickets to games this year as well as during one of our kind of the games that we play during the one lucky winner will be eligible to get a trip for 6 people to sanibel island, florida, including like vouchers, delta air lines. so lots of fun prizes that people can also be a salute least. so give us the details. how can 10 know if they're unable to attend? how else can they get it? yes, course. we love to have everybody in the community come out and join us for the event coming up on thursday. april 16th for 30 to 8 o'clock at the gallery in power and light district. we still a limited number of tickets available. we sold out last year. so get a mother. i that dudley slash p fpa. 26.
